About the Founder

Hello, my name is Joseph, and I founded the Gay Prince Educational Project. I am an East African human rights activist based in Germany. I hold a degree in Medicine and a Master's Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Project Management.

I started the Gay Prince Educational Project because I was supported financially by friends to achieve my educational goals. Their support provided finances I needed to complete my studies and become gainfully employed in my fields of study. Triggered by the love and support that I received as a young gay man in East Africa, I wanted pass the support forward. Through this Project, I am helping other young gay men achieve their educational goals, and I hope to support many more.

Initially, I paid some of the educational expenses of four young men. Then friends and acquaintances began making in-kind donations. Their support helped me realize that I was not alone -- many other people shared my passion to help young gay men in East Africa.

I am searching for more like-minded donors to support this Project and help young gay men in difficult situations in East Africa. I want these young men to live their dreams, as I have been able to do.

Donations to this Project will go to underprivileged, young gay East African men who long to obtain a good education but cannot afford to pay for it themselves.

I invite you to donate on the Gay Prince Education Project GoFundMe page. Your donation will go a very long way to help change the trajectory of the lives of young gay men living in some of the most challenging contexts because of their sexual orientation.

To learn more about the young men who receive funds through the Project, please click on the "Benficiaries" dropdown menu at the top of this page. You can read about the young gay East African men who are already benefiting from the love and financial support of people just like you. The page has been edited to protect the identies of the receipients, who, because of their sexuality, face social, political and legal challenges in their home countries.

On behalf of the young gay East African men whose lives you can help change, I thank you for your support!
