About Lulit

Lulit is in his first year of studies in a Bachelor of Law program where his tution costs are in excess of 1,715 Euros per term. His scholarhips covers less than 30% of his tuition and other educational needs leaving him with over 1,200  Euros to cover the rest of his studies. 

Lulit lost both of his parents a while ago and his life has been incredibly difficult since that time. Yet, through great adversity, he has been able to gain admission to a Bachelor of Law degre program, receive a scholarship that covers some of his costs, and find part-time employment as a waiter in a restaurant.

The idea of studying law flashed in my head after seeing the obstacles and discriminations Queer students face both in their communities and educational systems. It always gives me a hard time and a really bad feeling that they were and are always misunderstood and mistreated not only in Africa but around the whole world.

I want everyone to have the liberty freedom and equity they deserve. I want the LGBTQ members to know that they are an important part of the communities they live in and their voices should be heard.

“Pride is for everyone.” We deserve to experience love fully, equally, without shame, and without compromise.
